We are now able to offer placings for volunteers to assist elderly people living within Clackmannanshire. Our main volunteering roles are Befriending, Transportation, Shopping and Events.
Befriending involves spending time with an elderly person who may be housebound because of mobility issues or who is unable to access public transport. We try to create a regular time slot (weekly, fortnightly) in order to help build a relationship between our client and their befriender. If appropriate, it may also be possible to offer the client the opportunity to get out and about for short trips to local shops or for a coffee.
Our Transportation services are provided as part of our Good Neighbours Transport Scheme. If you enjoy driving, getting out and about, meeting people and being appreciated then our Good Neighbours Transport Scheme may be an ideal way to volunteer with us.
We also offer a shopping service to our clients. This could be assisted shopping alongside a client, or it may be required because our client is unable to access public transportation.
We are continually building the list of Events on offer to our clients. We hope to be able to offer regular shopping trips, evenings out and access to a morning or afternoon club to help our clients meet others.
